My research circulates around five related themes: ecotourism, moral issues tied to the use of animals in tourism, sustainable tourism, fly-fishing, and tourism ethics. I work towards identifying gaps in these areas, and then use theory from other disciplines (e.g., biology, philosophy) to create new innovative knowledge pathways.

I am the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Ecotourism, and on the boards of several academic journals.
